Analysis of the Russian Far East container shipping problems

The article presents the analysis of the container shipping current situation at the Russian Far East. It is stated that in spite of Russian ports total turnover decrease, there is an active increase in container turnover of the far eastern ports. The main reasons of this situation are established. The current problems hampering the development of container shipping in the far eastern region are determined: reduction in the turnover of container fleet, low level of containerization of domestic Russian transportation, shortage of seats on container trains, lack of regulation of the share of vehicles involved in container transportation, uneven cargo flows, lack of capacity container terminals operators.
