Problem analysis of the development of speech abilities and communication skills of visually impaired children

The article is devoted to visually impaired children and, in particular, to the development of their speech abilities and communication skills. The problem is in the scope of the pure and applied tyflopedagogy. The analysis of works allowed to draw the conclusions about the characteristics of various mental processes of visually impaired children. The ascertaining experiment was conducted, where the criteria of “sense notions and concepts used in speech” and “sociability” were used. The distribution of children evaluated by the criterion “speech abilities and communication skills” was presented. The methods and forms of work to improve the speech abilities and communication skills of visually impaired children have been offered.
