The paper carried out a review of fiction pieces by Abuzar Ayidamirov with the purpose of establishing the reasons that prompted Aydamirov to put pen to paper. The study outcomes have mentioned that the author tried to identify the set of issues of Aydamirov’ s pieces, to understand what reasons made Aydamirov put pen to paper, and why the author intended to share these issues with the reader. The basis for author''s assessment of Sheikh Mansour being the perfect type for the author is writer’s presentation of a person participating in Jihad (the Holy War), this portrayal has been reflected in contrasting Mansur with Shamil. An epic story «Kaluga prisoner» by Aydamirov may be properly defined as a piece combining epic and drama.
