The production process of feed mixtures has a direct impact on the development of other sectors of agriculture. The state of the feed supply directly affects the increase in productivity, improvement in the quality of livestock, as well as the reduction in the cost of livestock products. When receiving livestock products, obtaining feed mixtures and preparing them for feeding accounts for up to 70% of all costs. In this regard, in order to reduce this indicator, it is necessary to optimize the organization of the process of preparing feed mixtures, as well as increase the efficiency of the machines for their production by making improvements to their design. The object of scientific research in this work is the process of grinding grain material in a liquid medium for the purpose of preparing liquid and paste feed mixtures. The purpose of the research is to develop and test the performance of a unit for producing liquid and paste feed mixtures, the working body of which is a non-hulled dismembrator, and to study the consistency of the resulting feed. It has been theoretically proven and experimentally confirmed that the unit allows for fine grinding, intensive mixing and heat treatment of mixtures without electric heating elements. This is confirmed by the results of laboratory studies of the consistency of the resulting feed. The average grain size at the end of the unit preparation cycle was 684 microns. Upon visual inspection, the feed mixture looks uniform. Research has been carried out to determine the viscosity of the resulting feed mixture. It was determined that the feed viscosity index decreases from 38 to 35 Pa∙s with an increase in the amount of liquid component. At the same time, with increasing temperature (from 22 to 55°С), the viscosity index decreases.
