Analysis of risks and uncertainty factors in the investment-construction industry

The article considers the impact of risks and uncertainty factors on the investment and construction industry, taking into account the specifics of the industry under study. The aspects that form the processes that cause uncertainty or risks in the construction industry, as well as the indicators reflecting the classification of uncertainty, are analyzed. The classification features of uncertainty within the specifics of the investment and construction industry are studied, allowing to structure the reflecting probable sources of uncertainty to identify risk events of various investment and construction projects. The most commonly used methods for assessing the effectiveness of investment projects under uncertainty and risk are studied. Complex indicators of uncertainty arising in the investment and construction industry, which are numerous and heterogeneous, are considered. A diagram of the interaction between the impact of risks on investment and construction activities and uncertainty is presented, from which it is clear that risk is more predictable and its impact on the project is less extensive than that of uncertainty.
