Analysis of the labor market of Kaluga region in order to determine the employment trajectories of the elderly population

Russia's demographic problems are having an increasing impact on employment and the labour market, and, as a consequence, on the prospects for economic development in General. In the conditions of aging of the population, citizens of retirement age are a potential reserve for increasing the number of employees. The peculiarities of the functioning of older individuals set new goals and tasks for the state and society, require a comprehensive approach to the development of active longevity policy in order to ensure a healthy old age and a higher involvement of older people in work. The article analyzes the demographic situation, the Russian labor market and the Kaluga region. According to the results of the analysis, it was revealed that the current situation in the market is characterized by General and structural insufficiency of labor resources, low demand for labor of the older generation. It is shown that the level of participation of pensioners in the labor force increases. The leaders in the employment rate of the elderly population are women. The most popular professions in the regional labor market are determined. Older people are actively interested in vocational training and retraining opportunities. This actualizes the need for timely analytical studies of this problem to determine the priorities of regional socio-economic policy and adaptation of the labor market of Kaluga region to the new demographic situation.
