Analysis of random processes with stationary increments on the example of Wolf numbers

The article is devoted to the analyze of random processes with stationary increments. It is based on the example of the daily dynamics of Wolf numbers in the period from 10/30/1913 to 10/31/2022. During this period, the dynamics of the Wolf numbers determines a random process with stationary increments. Stationarity is understood in a narrow sense. The probabilistic distribution of the increments of the Wolf numbers at different time intervals follows the logistic law. Identification of its parameters based on empirical data gives values consistent with the statistical characteristics of the analyzed series, mathematical expectation and standard deviation.
