Analysis of the current state and prospective directions of development of the fishing industry of the northern region

The article presents an analysis of the current state of the fishery industry in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and possible promising directions for the development of the fishery complex. An overview of the existing registered fishing grounds of the region is given, with the allocation of free catch areas for the main types of fish caught and also highlighted the systemic problems of the development of the regional fishery industry, arising from the transport remoteness of the fish processing complex from the fishing grounds. In order to determine the main directions of improving and developing the fishery complex of the region under consideration, the main organizational processes of catching, transporting, processing and marketing fish products were studied. As a result of the analysis of the current state of the fishery industry in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), recommendations have been proposed to preserve the traditional fishery of the population of the Arctic territories of the region and improve the mechanisms of its development.
