The article analyses modern effectively used Russian and foreign systems and models aimed at training demanded labor resources. The authors consider traditional basic models, including British, German, and Scandinavian ones. The researchers describe the concept of CDIO (Conceive-Design-Implement-Operate), the dual system of education, which has proven its effectiveness in more than 120 universities of the world, the dual-circuit model for designing and implementing the main curriculum as well. The paper reveals the essential characteristics of the modern model of vocational education.
