Background. The relationship between the neuromarker BDNF and various indicators in patients with CKD is relevant and poorly studied. Methodology for revealing the research problem. 150 patients with type 2 diabetes and end-stage CKD on hemodialysis were examined. Research methods included: general clinical, biochemical and instrumental studies, etc. Research results. BMI, levels of systolic and diastolic pressure and the frequency of hypertension increased significantly from group 1 to group 3, and fasting glucose and insulin levels did not differ significantly between groups. The average fasting blood BDNF values were lower in group 3 – with the most severe CCI. After the OGTT, there was a significantly significant difference in BDNF values in all groups: it decreased at 30 and 10 minutes, especially in patients with grade 3 CCI (group 3). The main finding of our study was that higher fasting serum BDNF levels were associated with a significantly lower prevalence of CKD.
