Review of theoretical foundation for instructional content of sociocultural competence

Instructional content of sociocultural competence was reviewed. Importance of sociocultural approach to teaching of international communication languages was displayed. While considering different approaches to conceptual definition of “sociocultural competence” it was established that these definitions supplement each other and emphasize different aspects of the concept. The conclusion was drawn that a sociocultural competence of students is an integral component of foreign communicative competence.
