The analysis of excessive debt level of the population in the Republic of Buryatia

The article examines the extremely difficult situation with debt load of the population of the Republic of Buryatia in comparison with regions of Siberian Federal District and the Russian Federation in general. The authors have investigated the growth dynamics of the population’s credit debt for the last three years, structure of credit debt in a section of types of credit products, the main reasons for current situation. In addition, the authors have carried out the analysis of the population debt load of the Republic of Buryatia in a section of municipalities. The analysis reveals the need for speedy implementation of integrated activities by all the parties interested in the solution of this problem in the face of the state, credit organizations and the public. The work reveals the importance of raising the populations’ financial education level and financial literacy for the solution of the problem of the population debt load in the Republic of Buryatia.
