Ovarian cancer is the most important social and economic problem of our time. In Russia, more than 14,000 new cases were registered in 2016, more than 50% of them ended lethal[1]. About 15% of all cases are associated with impairments in BRCA1 / 2 genes, but the remaining cases are associated with changes in other genes[2]. Identification of new genes involved in the pathogenesis of ovarian cancer will help improve the prevention and treatment of patients[3]. One of the candidate genes is the IL6 gene. IL6 protein actively functions in the centers of acute and chronic inflammation[4]. We analyzed the frequency distribution of alleles and genotypes of the polymorphic locus rs1800795 in the IL-6 gene among patients with OC and healthy women from the Republic of Bashkortostan. Was revealed the association of the polymorphic variant rs1800795 of the IL6 gene with the risk of ovarian cancer in women from the Republic of Bashkortostan (CG: OR=1.6, 95% CI 1.1-2.3, p=0.007; GG: OR=0,7, 95% CI 0.5-1, p=0.04).
