Analysis of introduction of elective course "Tourism" of discipline "Physical culture and sport" in Petrozavodsk State University

This article deals with the problem of the need of students of Petrozavodsk State University in the elective course "Tourism" discipline "Physical culture and sport". During the last 3 years, this discipline is gaining popularity among students of 1-3 courses. The results of the survey show that students are interested in the option of elective courses, it motivates them to attend classes in physical culture. The course "Tourism" is chosen by both experienced athletes and students who do not have skills in sports tourism.
