Analysis of the relationship between inflation and the standard of living

Бесплатный доступ

This article examines the impact of inflation on the standard of living of the population, which is viewed through the prism of per capita income. It is concluded that a noticeable lag or outstripping of the growth rate of per capita income over inflation in the short term can have a significant impact on the standard of living in the long term. The segmentation of the population into nine groups is proposed, depending on the ratio of the rate of change in per capita income and inflation, taking into account the dynamics of consumer basket prices. The author substantiates the expediency of the proposed grouping.

Standard of living, inflation, consumer basket, money supply, segmentation, sticky prices
