English awareness about the position of a head of state in the system of governmental authority

The purpose of the article is formulating the most common views of the features of due model of a head of state who can meet the requirements of effective governance on the basis of the analysis of English political and legal attitudes of the second half of the XVII - the first half of the XIX centuries. According to the results of the research of ideological climate of the English society of the XVIII century, the author makes a conclusion that the problem of increasing royal prerogatives consisted in viciousness of the English election system and deficiencies of processes related to the duties of the members of the House of Commons.
