Ensemble of yataga players of the theatre of song and dance «Baikal»

The article considers the historical and cultural factors that contributed to the creation of the ensemble of yataga players in 1979 at the State ensemble of song and dance «Baikal». The author has evaluated the contribution of the members of the collective, the repertoire is presented, the concert activity has been described. Particular attention is paid to the present activities of the ensemble «Эрдэни ятаг» recreated in 2007. The significance of yataga performance in strengthening and developing national traditions is noted.
