Anti-VEGF therapy in the treatment of diabetic retinopathy

This article discusses the role of anti-VEGF therapy in the treatment of diabetic retinopathy. The mechanisms of action of anti-VEGF drugs, the results of clinical studies and their impact on the visual functions of patients are described. Our own study was conducted on the basis of the Department of Ophthalmology of Samarkand State Medical University, the purpose of which was to assess the effectiveness of ranibizumab over time. The results show a significant improvement in visual acuity and a reduction in retinal edema after therapy. The findings confirm the importance of anti-VEGF drugs in the DR treatment strategy [1,2].
