The ancient philosophy and the Greek apologetics

The article considers attitude of the early Greek apologists to pagan philosophy by case study of Justin, Athenagoras and Tatian. The Christian apologists developed Christian theology in order to defend the new religion to educated pagans. The apologists did not reject the Greek philosophy, but attempted to show the value of Christianity in the framework of the Greek rationalist tradition. For this purpose, apologists employed a variety of philosophical and formal logic approaches.
