Anti-science and education: the urgency of redefining concepts

The problem is in the point that the present-day education framework seems to be open to a wide range of cultural impacts butit,s still based on a narrow definition of science. One is tempted to hang a label of an antiscientific approach on everything that runs contrary to the conventional assumptions. In the same time the education system proves to be vulnerable to new modifications of anti-science. In this connection an attempt to redefine the notion of “anti-science” and some closely related categories is undertaken here. The need to revise the principles of demarcation between scientific thought and religious one is disclosed. Scientism is first considered as a modern metamorphosis of anti-science, with equivalence between anti-science and anti-scientism being a blunder.
