Antioxidant drugs in chronopharmacological approach to abstinent syndrome therapy

Chronic alcohol intoxication leads to severe complications from all organ systems, but the main ones are damage to the cardiovascular system. At the same time, treatment of alcoholism and withdrawal symptoms with basic drugs that are cardiotoxic can cause additional damage to the heart muscle. At the moment, this problem remains open, since there are practically no effective methods of pharmacotherapy and research. We studied the material of several studies describing the chronophysiological aspects of some pathological processes in chronic alcohol intoxication, as well as the effect of antioxidant drugs on the indicators of cardiovascular activity in patients with alcohol withdrawal syndrome, and made conclusions about the possibility of introducing a qualitatively new chronopharmacological approach in the treatment of chronic alcohol intoxication and withdrawal symptoms.
