The article provides a theoretical analysis of the problems associated with the manifestation of suicidal behavior, in the framework of which the authors carry out an analytical review of scientific works of domestic and foreign scientists on the characteristics of the vitality of a person and self-regulation of human behavior. The analysis of theoretical and empirical works allowed to discuss the features of resilience as a personality trait that determines the personal adaptive potential and affects the reduction in the level of manifestation of suicidal behavior. The authors concluded that the resilience as a factor of reducing the risk of suicidal behavior appears in the form of personal adaptation potential, which reduces the likelihood of maladaptation and suicide, and thus, acts as an anti-suicidal potential. In addition, the results of the study suggest that the individual ratio of the structural components of the resilience reflects a greater degree of realism in the perception of the social environment, the level of self-regulation of social behavior and willingness to be active in situations of uncertainty, thus acting as a factor of reducing the risk of suicidal behavior.
Suicidal behavior, resilience of a person, personal adaptive potential, antisuicidal potential
