This article is devoted to the phenomenon of the spread of anthropocentrism within the boundaries of modern state and municipal government. Anthropocentricity is the most important driving force of modern public administration. The need to provide citizens with the realization of their rights and the provision of opportunities for successful development is the trend of our days. In order to identify the level of anthropocentric orientation of citizens and their attitude to the very phenomenon of anthropocentrism, a sociological study was carried out. The results of the study indicate the readiness of citizens to participate in public administration. Also, we came to the conclusion that the majority of citizens participate in participatory processes in one way or another. The main concern of citizens (on the issue of participation in participatory processes) is caused by the stereotyping of state and municipal government and the creation of an image of a managerial machine that is guided by the principles of populism.
