The Ilizarov apparatus in treatment of open leg bone fractures with soft-tissue defects along the anterio-interior surface

Difficulties in treatment of patients with open diaphyseal fractures of leg bones, accompanied by extensive defects of soft tissues, make it necessary to search for new tactical solutions. A clinnical case of treatment is given in the work in which the Ilizarov device was used in a patient with similar pathology and osteoperforation of the ends of "skeletized" fragments was performed followed by skin plasty. Good clinical effect was achieved. 6 patients were treated without complications and unsatisfactory outcomes.
