This article represents a philosophico-critical study based on different approaches to world history. It identifies the theoretical origins and the methodological grounds of the traditional views on technological discoveries and astronomical observations during the Middle Age and the modern period. The article addresses the key aspects of the modern historical chronology from the perspective of the works written by Nikolai Alexandrovich Morozov, a renowned Russian and Soviet scientist and academician. The main objective of this investigation is to determine the focal points within a wide range of scientific material provided by N.A. Morozov that enable interpreting the concept of «the new chronology» according to its scientific classifiers.
