Arrest as a type of criminal punishment for civilians and military servants: problems and development prospects

The article is devoted to arrest as a form of criminal punishment. The question of arrest is debatable. The article presents the views of various legal scholars and arguments for both “for” and “against” arrest as a type of punishment. As a result, the author of the article comes to the conclusion that the existence of the arrest is inexpedient and it is necessary to exclude him from the system of punishments. The uniqueness of this article lies in the fact that not only arrest for civilians is considered, but also arrest for military personnel, for each of them the author sees possible solutions to the problems posed.
