Archaeological research on «Biryuzovaya Katun» in 2016

The archaeological expedition of Altai State University continued research on the territory of «Biryuzovaya Katun» in Altai district of the Altai Krai in September 2016. During the works on the complex Biryuzovaya Katun-12 the square enclosure with larger plates on the perimeter and filling of small stones were excavated. After the excavation the object was reconstructed in the park «Crossroads of the Worlds». The revealed structure has no exact parallel in the known materials of archaeological research in Altai. Preliminarily the studied complex can be attributed to the late Middle Ages -ethnographic time and interpreted as a cult object associated with the implementation of ritual practice.
