Archaelogical collections of the Soviet period in Kyakhta Local Museum

The article considers the archaeological collections of Kyakhta local Museum that were formed by the archaeologists from St. Petersburg and Buryatia during the Soviet period. Their feature is in the availability of the accompanying documentation that makes them unique in their own way. This allows researchers to comprehend the age to which the archaeological material belongs to as well as the time of detection and methods used during the archaeological work. The archaeological collections are presented in the museum in the chronological order of their formation which reflects the development of archaeology in Buryatia.
