Archaeological sites of Zaramag depression toc \o "1-3" \h \z (results of salvage excavations of 2007-2009)

The paper presents the results of the salvage works by the North Osse- tian expedition (Institute of Archaeology, RAS) at two dwelling sites (Chidgom settlement and Tsmi hillfort), and the Mamisondon cemetery. The investigations were carried out in the Zaramag reservoir construction zone near Tsmi village, Alagir region, Republic of North Ossetia - Alania. Chronology of the sites was established. The core of Chidgom settlement is preliminary dated to the mid 3 rd - mid 2 nd mill. BC, four stages of the site's functioning have been singled out. At the multilayer Tsmi hillfort a spot of non-disturbed cultural deposit was revealed, containing fragments of numerous vessels of various shapes and technologies. Taking into account separate finds with reliable chronology the material preliminary is dated back to the 9 th - 11 th cc. Materials from the Mamisondon cemetery (7 th - 9 th cc.) are presented in the chronological table of personal ornaments.
