In 2017, the archaeological team of IAET SB RAS participated in rescue excavations in the foothills of Crimea on the section of Simferopol-Feodosia of the Tavrida Highway which is currently under construction. During the field season, eight burial mounds on the territory of seven sites, and 32 burials on the Orta-Eget subsoil burial ground were completely explored. The greater part of the burial mounds was located on small natural hills; well-marked mounds were absent, and burial mounds contained asynchronous burials from the Bronze Age to the Late Middle Ages. Most of the burials were not disturbed by robbers and economic activities, which made it possible to obtain relatively full information about the funeral rite and inventory from these sites.
