This article considers the life and veneration of the Moldavian ascetic of the late 18th - early 19th century, Archimandrite Theodosius (Maslov), a disciple of St. Paisius (Velichkovsky), abbot of several Moldavian sketes and monasteries, abbot and builder of the St. Sophronius Molche-Lake Hermitage, and founder of the Propastʹ Metochion of the Hermitage, which, after his repose, was transformed into the St. Gergory Bizyukovo second-rank Monastery. In this article, the author critically reviews and summaries the sources and literature on the life of Archimandrite Theodosius, focusing on the founding of the Bizyukovo monastery and the role of G. Potemkin in the establishment of monasteries in southern Russia.
