The article discusses a problem of the reception of religious and political ideas of the cult of the emperor in architecture and symbolism of various buildings in the cities of Asia Minor on the example of archaeological excavations in the baths, gymnasiums and theaters of the Greco-Roman period. The main subject of study is so-called “gable of glorification” - an architectural composition of religious nature that reflects in stone and marble the basic ideas of the imperial cult. In the 1st century BC gables of glorification were a mandatory element of the complex of baths and gymnasiums, and in the 2nd century they reach the highest point of its religious and architectural development in proscenium of a Roman theater. The study of this topic seems relevant as the Roman imperial symbolism formed in the 1st - the 3d centuries later had an undeniable impact on both the Byzantine and the European cultural traditions.
