Asymmetry of cultural names

This paper presents the analysis of asymmetry phenomenon related to English and Russian lingua-cultural names. The author attempts to consider the notions of culture, space of culture, lingua-culture, lingua-cultural name, the asymmetry between corresponding names in English and Russian cultures. In particular, the author aims at studying semiotic asymmetry giving their examples, analyzing the reasons of their origin and giving the ways to solve their translation problems.
