Asymmetry in the federal device of Russia and the principle of equality of subjects of the Russian Federation

The Constitution of the Russian Federation secures the principle of the equality of the subjects of the Federation under Article 5. The same Article indicates six types of Russian Federation subjects having their own peculiarities and accordingly possessing different rights and duties. Can this paradox of "equality of the unequals» be solved?
