This article analyzes the phenomenon of "mass culture" and the type of influence of mass culture on a subject. The modern mass culture is characterized both by hedonism and asceticism at the same time, and the two are not always opposite concepts. The author proves the idea that mass culture cultivates consumer ideals and asocial (criminal) values
