The author examines the crisis of humanistic values ​​in modern "consumer society" and the paradigm of hedonism as a motivational and value component of modern society. In this context, the author examines the aim achieving crisis and self-overcoming through the prism hesychast ascetic practices. Traditional spiritual practices to combat identity crisis today forgotten, because in the era of postmodernism is abandoned in favor of the absolute values ​​of situational ethics and consequentialism.
