There is given the characteristics of aspect meanings of participles in the German and Russian languages. There is compared the aspect semantics of participles of perfective and imperfective aspect in the Russian language and participles of the German language. There is attempted to trace whether the aspect semantics of participles remains the same in translating it from German into Russian.
