Aspects of musical interaction in instrumental ensembles (from classics to jazz)

The article considers the key aspects of interaction in the musical ensembles that cover both classical and jazz music. We analyze deep processes in different types of ensembles, psychophysical moments inherent to each individual performer, as well as professional and personal aspects of the members’ interaction. The importance of the rhythm section, where drums and bass serve the basis that sets the tone for the entire ensemble, is emphasized based on the work experiencing with the famous musicians as John Feddis. The roles of guitar and piano as well as of the wind instruments that emphasize the importance of timing and sound quality are considered. The psychological climate and leadership in the musical bands play a key role in the performance success. Effective musical interaction requires deep understanding and synergy between the ensemble members, which forms unique sounding and creates a new musical reality.
