The article presents an analysis of the elements of innovation activities of Russian tourism organizations and the health resort sector. The results, obtained on the basis of statistical data and the method of expert assessments, make it possible to identify the competitive advantages of organizations that are subjects of small and medium-sized businesses, which predetermine the vectors of their further development. At the same time, the emphasis by the owners and management of tourism organizations and the sanatorium-resort sector should be made on product and organizational and managerial innovations.
