The article examines the positions of researchers on current issues of post-conflict resolution in multi-component societies. The subject of attention is the applicability of A. Lijphart's model of consociational democracy to post-conflict resolution in multi-ethnic and/or multi-religious countries. Modern comparative studies ambiguously assess the effectiveness of this model in multi-component societies, both in the Western world and in the rest of the world. Social integration in the context of post-conflict settlement is associated with the formation of a common identity oriented towards the future and historical memory that is oriented towards the past.
