It is proved that nitrogen oxide level in exhaled air at patients with bronchial asthma considerably exceeds that at healthy people, and also at patients with other respiratory diseases. The increased concentration of nitrogen oxide in exhaled air can be a consequence of eosinophil activation of the lower respiratory ways against a chronic inflammation. Definition of nitrogen oxide content in exhaled air consider as the earliest and reliable marker of respiratory inflammation, that opens possibility of use it for selection and monitoring of basic therapy, and also assessment of compliance, especially in pediatric practice. In most cases the exhaled nitrogen oxide is measured by gas analyzers on the basis of a chemiluminescence method.
