Assisting victim as a victimological phenomenon

The article is devoted to the victimological problem of the assisting victim. This is type of the victim who by his actions consciously or unconsciously assists the offender is understood. In the article the author offers the definition of the given term and arguments in favor of the research of the mentioned type of victims. A study of domestic and foreign literature identified three basic modalities of the assisting victim, which include patterns of submission, retranslation, and cooperation. These three basic forms of assistance, differing in degree of complexity and combination. The study distinguishes between the concepts of assisting victim, facilitating victim and provoking victim. In addition, the main conceptual views to explain the nature of the cooperation of the victimized person with the discriminating subject are presented.
