Focus in the study was placed on the association between endothelium-dependent brachial artery vasodilatation and microcirculatory vascular responsiveness to acetyl-holine and histamine in patients with coronary calcinosis. 23 patients with calcinosis of coronary arteries (mean age 59.39±1.51 years) were studied. Vascular responsiveness of the microcirculatory bed to vasoactive substances (acetylholine and histamine) was determined by means of laser Doppler flowmetry. A reactive hyperemia method was used to evaluate the function of brachial artery endothelium. It was found out that endothelium-dependent brachial artery vasodilatation is directly associated with microcirculatory vascular responsiveness to histamine. In addition, there is some evidence that the above indicator is directly related to microcirculatory vascular responsiveness to acetylholine. The indicator of microcirculatory vascular responsiveness to acetyl-holine directly associated with a high risk of 10-year fatal outcomes is inversely related to endothelium-dependent brachial artery vasodilatation in patients with coronary calcinosis.
