Aggressive and personal-psychological characteristics of women previously married men suffering from alcoholism

In the article the influence of divorce and post-divorce state on suicidal and personal-psychological characteristics of wives whose husbands suffer from alcohol dependence has been studied. It has been found out that ex-wives of alcohol dependent men have high indexes of autoagressive activity after a long period of time after matrimonial separation. In other words, the fact of family disruption and elimination of husband’s “pathological” influence is not the factor which completely removes self-destructive patterns of behaviour and personal co-dependant types of reaction which existed in the family. Both suicidal and non-suicidal components of autoagressive behaviour in ex-wives of men suffering from alcohol dependence have been studied.
