Autofluorescence in the complex endoscopic diagnosis of recurrent lung cancer

The paper presents long-term follow-up results for 68 patients with non-small cell lung cancer treated with combined modality treatment. In control terms after treatment, fibrobronchoscopy was performed to evaluate autofluorescence of bronchial stump mucosa and bioptic material was taken for histologic examination. The analysis of autofluorescence spectra obtained from the bronchial stump provides early detection of local recurrence and improves differentiated diagnosis.
