The article discusses automation and digitalization of processes in the oil and gas industry. This topic has attracted attention due to the problem of the high cost and danger of the oil and gas business, as well as due to the emergence of new global technologies. The author lists possible ways to solve this problem through the introduction of modern technologies. In the process of considering this topic, the author comes to the conclusion that automation and digitalization are needed for several reasons: increased production efficiency, increased human safety, competitiveness in the market, improved monitoring of ongoing processes in production.
