Language and society are evolving and mutually influencing each other. Influencing the development of society, language affects the development of the territory of the society’s “location”. This article represents a research contributing to the development of the territory where the Russian state is located. When working with the sources of the first Russian revolution we revealed the only case of the use of this proverb in category “Modern Proverbs” of the socio-political satirical magazine “Zarnitsy”. Scientific novelty of the research consists in the fact that the author’s proverb ‘Hope for the army but move away’ which has not previously attracted the researchers’ attention, is analyzed for the first time. An author-developed method of analysis of historically distant author’s proverbs of the Russian language including the methods of componential, contextual, and logical-semiotic analysis and analysis of dictionary definitions is used in the work. The following results were obtained in the study: 1) it is established that the originating proverb of the transformation is the proverbial expression ‘God helps those who help themselves’; 2) recognition of the system prototype of the new proverb is proved by establishing the identity of their structural models as well as their belonging to one and the same higher logical-semiotic invariant group II (2) and the logical-semantic group “friend-or-foe”; 3)it is established that the appearance of a new authors’ proverb was due to the inability of the authorities to restore order in the country and to ensure the safety of ordinary citizens; 4)the judgment expressed in the author’s proverb is formulated in the following way: ‘keeping the hope that the army and the government can ensure the safety during the revolution, you should rely only on yourself and leave the country until to the socio-political situation normalizes; 5) the author’s proverb type is a saying.
