In the modern conditions of the Russian Federation, 193 ethnic communities live. The country is defined as a multinational statehood, in which each ethnic community has its own interesting and meaningful history, which is far from being studied. And all the former Soviet republics can also be classified as multinational. In every multinational community the everyday life of peoples is built on vital principles - consensus, friendship, trust, mutual understanding, consolidation, consociality and others. In the context of a revival of attention on the part of societies and, first of all, young people to historical science, it is advisable to turn to complex issues of the history of titular peoples and ethnic minorities. Of particular interest is the period of the Great Patriotic War, a time when both positive factors on the part of ethnic communities and a negative side were simultaneously observed, primarily in solving problems of protecting the Fatherland. In the context of the confrontation between Russia and the states of Western Europe, led by the United States, which are imposing an open war on Russia, it is important to know and remember the lessons of the past. Their knowledge and memory of them are especially relevant in the conditions of the realities that each of the states has to experience in a new dimension. Just these lessons are considered in the article on the example of the republics of Transcaucasia (Azerbaijan SSR). All this helps to clarify not only their nature, social roots, but also to show social technologies and the manifestation in practice of this harmful policy in relation to the population of their country, to reveal its specifics. These components are identified in relation to multinational Azerbaijan: the quantitative characteristics of the process of forced resettlement, the situation of the repressed peoples, the features of the implementation of the mechanisms used in the conditions of resettlement, the development of ways out of the difficult situation in the states of the Caucasus, specifically the Republic of Azerbaijan.
