Azerbaijan educators in the contest for the development of children literature (the end of the XIXth - the beginning of the XXth centuries)

The Azerbaijan children’s literature appeared in the second half of the XIXth century. It includes two stages of the establishment: 1) from the middle of the XIX th century to the First Russian Revolution; 2) 1905-1920. During the second period it developed in the direction of the educational and realistic tendencies. The educators demonstrated against the epigonist-poets writing their works on the basis of the traditional genre forms and appealed to create the patterns corresponding the spirit of the age.
