The condensation reaction of substituted anilines with 2-[(3-formyl-4-hydroxyphenyl) diazenyl] benzoic acid in a polar solvent was studied. The products were obtained as colored solids with yields from 69 to 87%. The structure of the compounds was studied by infrared spectroscopy with Fourier transform. The main characteristic bands were isolated and related to the vibration types. For the Uv-Vis spectra, the effect of the solvent polarity on the nature of the spectral curves, the types of electron transitions, and their intensity was established. The thermal stability of the compounds was assessed based on the data of differential thermal and thermogravimetric analyses.
